Single Color LED Strip Installation Guide
If you are using a dimmer for your LED lights, single color LED amplifiers must be installed after every 2 spools (32.8ft) of regular density LED's. They link together LED strips, and connect to a power source to amplify the signal from your dimmer. This keeps the color and brightness consistent throughout long runs of LED lights.
The power source that connects to your amplifier must be strong enough to power any LED strips installed after amplifier. Above is a typical installation with 2 small power sources used to create a 4-spool (65.6ft) run of LED light. The 1st power source powers the 1st two strips, and the 2nd power source powers the 2 strips after your amplifier.
If your power source is large enough, you can wire 2 separate outputs: 1 to power the 1st two strips, and the other to power any strips after amplifier.
When using single color amplifiers with high density LED’s, and amplifier must be installed after ever 1 spool (16.4ft) of LED lighting. High density LED strips have twice as many LED’s as our regular density light strips, and run on twice the power.
If your power source is large enough, you can wire 2 separate outputs: 1 to power the 1st high density strip, and other to power the strip after your amplifier.
